Welcome to The Great Barrier Reef. You are seeing just several of the thousands of reefs that make up the 2000klm long Great Barrier Reef. Here from a height of 1800m you can see Green Island and nearby Arlington Reef. Cairns city can be seen on the mainland in the distance. Sand covered Green Island is the epitome of the tropical island experience, close to Cairns and surrounded by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. The island has pristine beaches, clear water, a live crocodile exhibit and a 5 star resort hotel. You can dive, snorkel, parasail, surf ski, sailboard or ride the glass bottom boat. The sunsets are spectacular. Several cruise boats operate to Green Island, for day trips or overnight.
